In the context of improvement of its new premises, the customer wanted to optimize its storage rooms and ensure the publications were preserved against subsequent increases in the water table (in the basement).
The University of Toulouse Le Mirail Library holds more than 7,000 books and periodicals in all disciplines of Humanities and Human Sciences.
The solution
Thanks to great consideration and much consultation involving those responsible for the library, users and those responsible for the work, a tailored solution is proposed that meets all the specific requirements. This installation comprises two rooms equipped with Compactus®, giving a total of 12 km of shelving. The storage room in the basement was equipped with a water repellent floor in order to protect the books against water damage, whilst the storage room located on the first floor was equipped with a pressed floor with a flexible covering.
